No Seafair this year, but you can celebrate Virtual Fleet Week

Sure, we'd love to be checking out Navy vessels and gearing up for the hydros and the Blue Angels, but this year it all happens online

The weather this week is perfect Seafair summertime weather.

This would've been Fleet Week if everything was normal. We'd be welcoming Navy ships to Elliott Bay and getting ready for the hydros on Lake Washington and the Blue Angels over the lake.

Unfortunately, there's no Seafair in Seattle this summer.

But that doesn't mean you can't capture a little of the flavor of Fleet Week. Like pretty much everything else fun, Fleet Week is going virtual this week.

The Seafair website is your portal to all kinds of Fleet Week fun.

Daily activities include:

  • USS Constitution Live Tour
  • Navy Band NW Masterclass
  • Ask a Sailor Anything
  • Day in the Life Vlog
  • USS CONSTITUTION evening colors, evening gun
  • STEM activity from Puget Sound Navy Museum
  • US Naval Undersea Museum virtual tours, interviews
  • USS WASHINGTON tours, interviews, other content
  • Morning Colors video from onboard ship or installation in the PNW
  • Video highlighting a Navy installation in PNW
  • Navy/Fleet Week shoutout videos from local sports teams
  • Navy Band NW Concerts

And every day this week is packed with a full schedule of tours and demonstrations (Navy parachute demonstration, anyone?) and Q&As.

Let's cross our fingers that we'll be doing all of this in person by next July, but meanwhile, hit up the Seafair website for Virtual Fleet Week and keep the Seafair spirit going, even during these strange times.
