It's going to be a beautiful, sunny PNW weekend with lots to do outdoors -- and to celebrate Dad

Get ready for the warmest, sunniest, funnest weekend of the year so far.

Of course, it's Father's Day on Sunday, and that's a good day to take Dad to see the Mariners play the Red Sox because the first 10,000 dads at The Safe take home a Mariner's BBQ glove. BTW, Friday is Fireworks Night after the game, and  on Saturday there's a Pride Night ticket special. And you can bet the roof will be open all weekend!

But there's so much more going on this weekend!

  • Fremont Solstice Parade and Fair  -- The annual parade Starts Saturday at 1:00pm. It's wacky, weird, and world-famous for its nude painted cyclists who ride at around 12:30 p.m. (It goes from Leary Way NW & NW 39th Street to Gas Works Park; The fair is both Saturday and Sunday and it features an expanded craft market, food vendors, a beer garden, street performers, 75 funky painted cars, and live music. Oh, and the dog parade is Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
  • The Edmonds Arts Festival runs Friday through Sunday. Tons and tons of art on display and for sale indoors and outdoors with 240 artists selling paintings, photography, pottery, sculpture, jewelry; two food courts; outdoor amphitheater with music, dance and theater performances; art activities for kids, student art exhibit, 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Friday-Saturday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday, Frances Anderson Center, 700 Main St in Edmonds.
  • The Marysville Strawberry Festival continues through Sunday. A family event with a carnival, vendors, strawberry shortcake, fashion show, a car show (Saturday 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.), a kids’ parade (Saturday 5 p.m.), and a grand parade (Saturday 7:45 p.m.).
  • Bicycle Sunday -- From 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Lake Washington Bloulevard wil be closed to motor vehicles on the Seattle side between Mount Baker Park Beach and the enetrance to Seward Park. Bike, jog, or stroll along the lake without having to dodge cars!
  • Seattle Storm women's basketball. Our mighty women take on the Connecticut Sun at Key Arena Friday night at 7.
  • Tacoma Rainiers Baseball Friday,  7:05pm -- The boys take on the Omaha Storm Chasers at Cheney Stadium.
  • Everett AquaSox --The Aqua Sox begin their season with a homestand against the Hillsboro Hops from Oregon starting Friday at 7:05pm, then again on Saturday at 7:05pm and Sunday at 4:05pm.  Everett Memorial Stadium.
  • Paradiso Festival  Friday & Saturday -- Sixty musicians perform at this unique electronic dance music festival “where digital meets nature” at the outdoor Gorge Amphitheatre in George for age 18+.
  • Morgan Junction Community Festival Saturday from 10am-4pm. Come on over to my neck of the woods in West Seattle for our annual community festival, and join us for music, food and fun, with a focus on local community business, talent and resources.  Kids’ and Family activities, The Bubbleman!, Endolyne Children’s Choir, Arts and Crafts and much more! 
  • Pour -- Saturday from 1 to 4pm. Hip new wine tasting featuring 24 wineries located within Seattle, all in one place one day to make it easy for you!  Food available from Papa Bois Food Truck. It's a collaboration with Seattle Urban Wineries & Seattle Uncorked!   At Block 41 in Belltown for age 21+. Premium tickets include a pre-party at noon. 
  • Bell Harbor Classic Weekend Friday through Sunday. Watch classic boats parade along the waterfront (Friday 2 to 4 p.m.), and then wear soft-soled shoes to tour boats Saturday & Sunday and vote for your favorite on the Wooden yacht parade & tour  at Pier 66. Free.
  • Washington Brewers Festival & Washington Beer Run 5K Washington Beer Run Friday/Saturday/Sunday. Raise a glass  on Father’s Day weekend as the Washington Beer Commission presents the 13th Annual Washington Brewer’s Festival at King County’s Marymoor Park! It's an all-ages beer festival (Sat & Sun) where thousands of beer aficionados can sample more than 500 beers from 100 Washington breweries. Enjoy great food trucks, a live music stage, wine/cider and all-ages activities.  Then on Father’s Day join the 5K fun run and get a bonus tasting token for the Festival!  No pets. 
  • Olympic Air Show , Saturday and Sunday from 9 to 5. The skies above Olympia will be buzzing when the Olympic Air Show flies into town!  The show is hosted by the Olympic Flight Museum and takes place at the Olympia Regional Airport.  See aerobatic performances and aircraft on display at the Olympia Airport.  There will be many recognized aerobatic performers and aircraft, as well as heritage aircraft from the museum’s collection, featuring aircraft WWII, Korea and Vietnam eras.
  • Hops with Pops on the Harbor, Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. Father’s Day beer cruise featuring four samples of Northwest beer and amazing views on Argosy Cruises boat, departing from Pier 54. Bring your ID. Kids OK.
  • Northwest Railway Museum, Saturday and Sunday -- Dads get a free 70-minute train ride with any paid child on Father’s Day weekend, departing from North Bend or Snoqualmie.
  • Fenders on Front Street, Sunday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admire hundreds of vintage and classic cars, including live music, family activities, and awards in Issaquah. Free.
