This weekend: Sheepdogs, the Storm, & Summer Concerts

Just another crazy busy weekend packed with cool stuff to do around Puget Sound

Some classic can't-miss  PNW events are happening around here this weekend.

  • Vashon Sheepdog Classic Friday/Saturday/Sunday Buy tickets in advance, bring a chair or blanket and join people from all over the world as they flock to Vashon to enjoy the wild  world of the working sheepdog. It's  the most attended herding event on the West Coast, on the breathtaking rolling meadows of Misty Isle Farms. (You kind of have to see it to understand it!)
  • Rock ’n’ Roll Seattle Marathon all weekend. Friday it's the Health & Fitness Expo and runner registration at CenturyLink Field. On Saturday the 5K race is at the Museum of Flight, and on Sunday the Rock ’n’ Roll Seattle Marathon and Half-marathon begin and end at Seattle Center.
  • Seattle Seawolves Rugby Friday, 6pm vs the Austin Elite at French Field in Kent. 
  • Seattle Sounders soccer Saturday vs DC United, 7pm at CenturyLink FIeld.
  • Seattle Storm women's basketball  (#1 in the Western Conference!) Sunday at 4pm at the Key vs the Atlanta Dream
  • Marymoor Park Concerts  Saturday it's the Last Summer on Earth Tour with Barenaked Ladies, KT Tunstall, and Better Than Exra, 6pm at Marymoor Park in Redmond.
  • Summer Concerts at Chateau Ste. Michelle in Woodinville on Sunday at 7pm, the Jethro Tull 50th Anniversary Tour. 
  • Brewshed Beer Fest 18 breweries pouring Saturday from 1 to 5pm at Hale's Ales Palladium in Ballard. A ticket gets you eight tastings.
  • Georgetown Carnival Saturday from noon to 10pm.Odd art, nonstop music, carnival games, food trucks, and a beer garden.
  • Shilshole Boatfest Saturdeay from 11am-4pm  Celebrate National Marina Day at Shilshole. Boat rides and tours, music, food trucks, a beer & wine garden, and kids’ activities at Shilshole Bay Marina. Free.
  • Lake to Lake Bike Ride Saturday. This family-friendly 8-mile Greenbelt loop or 22-mile Lake Loop through Bellevue’s park system begins and ends at Lake Hills Park in Bellevue.
  • Seattle Rose Society Annual Rose Show Saturday and Sunday at the Marketplace @ Factoria. Roses fill the Mall for this annual 2-day show, with prizes awarded in several categories.
  • PhotoFest  Saturday & Sunday Photography weekend offers free talks and workshops about photography, photo walks, and a chance to meet reps from the camera industry at Glazer’s Camera. Free.
  • Seattle International Dance Festival  Saturdays through June 23. An explosion of international dance and the arts both indoors and outdoors at South Lake Union Saturday Market.
