Seattle's biggest festival, the South Sound's biggest fair, a gamers convention, a huge car show . . . good thing it's a 3-day weekend so you'll have time for all this fun.

The unofficial end of summer is here -- three days to play and sing and cheer and eat and drink. The weather will be decent, the Highway 99 tunnel is still free . . . let's get out there and make this weekend count!

  • Everett AquaSox baseball Saturday 7:05pm, Sunday 4:05pm, Monday 4:05pm The Sox are at home at Funko Field hosting the Vancouver Canadians.
  • Seattle Sounders soccer Sunday, 3:30pm. The LA Galaxy come to CenturyLink Field.
  • Seattle Storm basketball Sunday 4pm. The Storm are home at Alaska Airlines Arena hosting the Atlanta Dream.
  • UW Football Saturday 12 noon. Huskies kick off their season with a game against the Eastern Washington Eagles at Husky Stadium.
  • Steve Miller Band & Marty Stuart at Chateau Ste. Michelle Winery. Friday 6:30pm
  • Billy Idol at the Washington State Fair Friday 7:30pm.
  • Bumbershoot Friday – Sunday. Seattle’s legendary festival of music, film, comedy, and arts on Labor Day weekend in 10 venues at Seattle Center, including a main stage in Memorial Stadium. Free for children younger than age 8, and seniors age 70+.
  • Dave Matthews Band at the Gorge Friday - Sunday.
  • Oak Harbor Music Festival Friday – Sunday.  Featuring 30 bands playing all types of music on two stages, beer & wine, food vendors, and arts & crafts on Whidbey Island. Free.
  • PAX West Friday – Monday. Play video games and see gamers in costume at the Washington State Convention Center in Seattle. [All dates are sold out except Monday.]
  • SkiBonkers Friday – Monday.  Ski & snowboard sale that is a sale of new skis, snowboards, and accessories in downtown Bellevue. Free.
  • Ellensburg Rodeo Friday – Monday. Washington State’s biggest rodeo, with live music, a carnival, and the Kittitas County Fair.
  • Children’s Business Fair Saturday, noon-5pm. Shop from 40 entrepreneurs ages 6 to 18 selling food, art, toys, and more in the east parking lot of Crossroads Mall in Bellevue. Free.
  • LeMay Annual Show Saturday. See 1500 vintage vehicles and a car auction at Marymount Event Center in Tacoma, plus the nearby LeMay home via a shuttle bus.
  • Bremerton Blackberry Festival Saturday – Monday. Walk aboard a ferry to this free event honoring those pesky vines. Hear music on two entertainment stages, visit the beer & wine garden, and shop the waterfront for art, jewelry, fair food, and blackberry pie. No pets.
  • Wildnights Friday, 6-8:30pm. Woodland Park Zoo stays open late for “magical encounters with animals, ambassador animal presentations, animal keeper talks, storytelling, and discovery stations with cool biofacts and nature-inspired activities” plus food and drinks for sale.
  • Lungs Through Saturday. World population has exploded to four times what it was in 1919, temperatures are hotter, and seas are rising, leaving a couple unsure about having a baby in this modern drama, a play “about our responsibilities to each other, ourselves, and our environment” at 12th Ave Arts.
  • Evergreen State Fair Through Monday. Meet farm animals, watch pigs race, eat fair food, and catch a show in Monroe.
  • Steel Magnolias Through September 8. Set in a small town beauty salon in Louisiana,  a humorous and poignant story about the friendship between six women, at SecondStory Repertory in Redmond.
  • Evergreen Excursion Through September 29 (board 11am Sunday) Boat ride, lunch, and your choice of a longer guided nature hike or a shorter history walk on beautiful Blake Island, departing from Pier 54. Children to age 3 are free.
  • Destination Moon:  The Apollo 11 Mission at the Museum of Flight Through September 2. Incredible opportunity to see the Apollo 11 space capsule along with an impressive array of Apollo artifacts here in Seattle commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the 1st Moon Landing in July.
