Autumn and beer seem to go together, because you have a lot of opportunities to taste fresh brews all weekend. And wine. And tea. And cider.

There's autumn in the air, and it's the last weekend of September. Baseball is winding down, football is going strong, and Halloween is on the way. This weekend is full of activities to help you make that transition into fall:


  • Mariners Baseball Friday – Sunday. It’s the final weekend of Seattle Baseball for 2018 and the Mariners host the Texas Rangers.  Friday’s game starts at 7:10pm and its Fan Appreciation Night.  All fans take home a team poster and there are fireworks after the game.  Saturday the game starts at 6:10pm and the first 20,000 fans take home a Pop! Collectible featuring Ken Griffey Jr.  Sunday’s final game of the season starts at 12:10 and it’s Kids Appreciation Day. All kids 14 and under take home a Moose poster.
  • University of Washington Husky Football Saturday, 5:30pm. The Brigham Young University Cougars at Husky Stadium. 
  • The Sound Squad will be in Everett at Safeway Saturday from 12-2pm.-- Hang out with me (John Fisher) and enter to win a $100 Safeway shopping spree. It's at 11031 19th Ave. SE in Everett.
  • Garbage at the Showbox Sodo Saturday, 8:30pm
  • Journey at the Gorge with Def Leppard Saturday, 7pm
  • Chvrches at the Paramount Saturday, 8pm
  • SketchFest Seattle  Friday & Saturday, various Seattle locations. Sketch comedy festival features comedy films one night and live comedy the other nights by comedians from Canada, California, and Washington. 
  •  Late Summer Wine Walk Friday, 5-9pm. The West Seattle Wine Walk celebrates wine with this vibrant and fun event in the heart of the West Seattle Junction.
  • Carleton Farms BrewFest Friday & Saturday. Local breweries serve up their best brews with a few distilleries and wines while you take in the vista views of the pumpkin patch and farm scenery. A ticket to this Everett beer festival gets you eight tastes of beer with live music and food for sale at Carleton Farms for age 21+.
  • Festa Italiana  Friday – Sunday .Celebrating Italian food, music, dance, art, and kids’ activities at Seattle Center. Free.
  • Mill Creek Fall Beer & Wine Walk  Saturday, 5-8pm. Taste beer & wine as you visit shops in Mill Creek Town Center.
  • Hawktoberfest  Saturday, 11am – 3pm. Visit this Seahawks car show to “cheer on our favorite Seattle football team with a vibrant display of team-themed vehicles” on Railroad Avenue in downtown Kent. Free.
  • Steins and Stems  Saturday, 2-6pm. This year they’ve added craft beers and ciders to the tasting offers, so the Puyallup Art & Wine Walk has become Steins and Stems, Puyallup’s Art, Wine and Brew Tour.  Stroll around our downtown Puyallup shops and businesses while sampling great wines, craft beers and ciders made by local wineries, brewers, and cider-makers.   21+.
  • Cider Swig  Saturday, noon-5pm. Two dozen regional cidermakers will present a range of 90+ hard ciders to cider lovers and the cider-curious alike traveling from near and far to join in a day of sampling the best ciders west of the Mississippi. In a Gig Harbor park, free if younger than 21.
  • Northwest Tea Festival  Saturday & Sunday. Two-day event showcasing the multifaceted world of tea, from the cultural to the historical and the sensory to the scientific at the Seattle Center Exhibition Hall.
  • Lake Union Wooden Boat Festival Saturday & Sunday from 10am to 10pm. Boat rides, tours, live music, kids’ activities, and food/beer vendors at the Center for Wooden Boats. Free.
  • Michelmasse Festival  Saturday & Sunday. A medieval village that features craft shops, puppets, cider pressing, music, dance, and lunch (or reserve dinner) at Camlann Medieval Village in Carnation.

Halloween Events

  • Georgetown Morgue Through November 3 at 5000 E. Marginal Way S. in the Georgetown area for age 12+. They keep the lights on for kids Oct. 13 (1 to 4 p.m.).
  • The Haunted Woods  September 29 – October 28. Roam this Buckley haunted farm or the Flashlight Maze (bring your own flashlight) at Maris Farms in Buckley for age 10+. See schedule.
  • Wild Waves Fright Fest  Friday – Sunday through October 28. Halloween at Wild Waves offers entertainment, rides in the dark, haunted houses, and Booville (for ages 1 to 12) at Wild Waves. Hours.
  • Fright House Station  Fridays and Saturdays through Halloween.  The Tacoma haunted house has two haunted attractions (The Redemption upstairs, and Shadows downstairs) near the Tacoma Dome for age 12+.
