Football in the rain and other weekend fun in Seattle and around the Sound

The Seahawks and the Huskies are both in town this weekend, but there's lots to do indoors too

It's November, it's rainy, we're setting the clocks back this weekend . . .  and we're parking ourselves in front of the flatscreen and watching some football this weekend, right? Or these other adventures:

  • Seattle Seahawks Football Sunday, 1:05pm. The Hawks are home against the LA Chargers at CenturyLink Field.  KIRO-TV channel 7.
  • University of Washington Football Saturday, 6pm. The Stanford Cardinals are in town for a Husky home game.  PAC-12 Networks. 
  • Goo Goo Dolls at the Paramount. Saturday, 8pm.
  • Fade  Through Sunday. A new true-to-life new comedy that’ll make you laugh but also addresses differences in culture, class, race, and gender. At The Bathhouse Theater near Green Lake in Seattle.
  • Snohomish Brewfest Friday and Saturday. Snohomish County's premier beer festival.  A ticket includes seven tastes of beer (5 ounces each) and a $5 coupon for the food vendors at Thomas Family Farm. 21+.
  • Oyster New Year  Saturday. Eat, drink and be eco-friendly at the biggest oyster party on the West Coast. 30 varieties of oysters, a seafood buffet, 60 wineries, microbrews, and live music at Elliott’s Oyster House on Pier 56 for age 21+.
  • Short Run Comix & Arts Festival  Saturday 11am – 6pm. Small publisher festival showcases makers of books, zines, comics, and animation at Fisher Pavilion at Seattle Center. Free.
  • Day of the Dead Festival  Saturday, 3 to 7pm.  Celebrate Día de los Muertos, a Mexican holiday honoring the dead with food, drink and festivities.  Live music and dance, decorate sugar skulls,  arts & crafts, get your face painted, eat delicious food, and drink Mexican hot chocolate.  Phinney Center in Seattle. Free.
  • Heather Tartan Ball & Silent Auction Saturday, 6-10pm Don your Clan tartan and plan to attend an evening of Scottish entertainment with pipe bands, highland dancing, country dancing, ballroom dancing, and a Silent Auction.  Seattle Latvian Cultural Center, 11710  3rd Avenue NE, Seattle age 21+.
  • The Festival of Lights  Saturday, 11am – 7pm. Celebrate the Hindu holiday Diwali, with Indian dance performances (both Bollywood & traditional), henna artists, craft making, and Indian sweets at Bellevue Square. Free.
  • Northwest Tile and Art Festival  Saturday & Sunday. See a juried show of Northwest tiles, meet the artists, attend workshops, get appraisals, and buy antique tiles and garden art at Mount Baker Community Club. Free.
  • Northwest Orchid Society Fall Show & Sale Saturday & Sunday. See blooming orchids and visit vendors of flowers and supplies at Swanson’s Nursery. Free.
  • Jet City Comic Show  Meet dozens of comics creators, hear panel talks, play games, and browse dealer tables at the Tacoma Convention Center.
