If you're reading this on Friday, you still have a chance to take one last cruise on the Alaskan Way Viaduct. If you're reading this on Saturday or Sunday, that ship has sailed, and you might as well plan your commute so Monday morning isn't the nightmare everybody's predicting. (If you've never taken mass transit before, here are some tips.) No matter what, there's fun to be had around the Sound all weekend. Here's a rundown:

  • The Alaskan Way Viaduct closes to traffic for good at 10pm Friday night.
  • Kris Kristofferson Friday, 8pm at the Paramount Theatre in Seattle.
  • Eddie Money Friday, 8pm at Suquamish Clearwater Casino Event Center.
  • Matilda the Musical Now through February 3.  A girl dreams of a better life and dares to take a stand. Everett Performing Arts Center.
  • Monster Jam  Friday – Sunday. Big monster trucks with big wheels make big noise and excitement in the Tacoma Dome.
  • No-Pants Light Rail Ride Sunday, 2-6pm. Random passengers board subway cars at separate stops without pants. The participants behave as if they do not know each other, and they all wear winter coats, hats, scarves, and gloves.  You should wear modest skivvies during the ride -- no g-strings or Speedo-type garments. The goal is to ride pants-free without making a scene, according to organizers.
  • Mini-Ragnar in Seattle Saturday, 10am – 1pm. Form a team of three for this mini-Ragnar relay.  Or, if you’re coming alone, be an ULTRA team of one, or they’ll hook you up with some running buddies. Meet with Grace, your local Ragnar Warrior on-site to answer all those questions you have.  PLEASE register individually so it is know how many people to expect.  Road Runner Sport 7020 Woodlawn Ave NE, Seattle.
  • Onesie Bar Crawl 2019 Saturday, 4-10pm. The world’s most comfortable bar crawl returns to Seattle.  Check-in location is the Box House on Washington.  Sign up for your wristband to fun!
  • Seattle Wedding Show Saturday and Sunday. Live and breathe weddings at the Washington State Convention Center in Seattle. Expect fashion shows, discount gowns, and 400 vendors.

Have a great weekend!
